When you’re having both Zoom and online web meetings with your clients and prospects, it’s important that you’re speaking to everyone through a solid, quality microphone.

A high-level coaching client of mine asked me to watch a Zoom recording that he and his partner were delivering a listing presentation on, to an institutional owner, and his partner’s voice didn’t sound great through the microphone that he was utilizing during the presentation.

This will definitely hurt the overall impact on the people that you want to be getting business from!

With this in mind, you don’t want to be utilizing a microphone that will just get the job done for you, or just sound OK. You want to be utilizing a microphone that will have your voice sounding great, whenever you’re speaking through it.

So I recommend that you record yourself speaking on Zoom, or on your favorite online platform for hosting web meetings, and then listen to how your voice sounds to you. Then compare this to how other people are sounding when you’re interacting with them on web meetings.

Do you notice some participants speaking, and their voice sounds much better than yours does, when you’ve listened to your own voice on the recording?

If so, ask the participant what microphone they’re using, and consider buying this microphone yourself, and then utilizing it for your future online meetings.

And if you’d like my recommendation for a relatively inexpensive microphone, that will do a very good job for you, consider getting the Logitech Blue Yeti microphone, which is a USB microphone that I utilize for my own online meetings, and for leading webinars.

The sum total of how you look, present yourself, and sound online when interacting with your clients and prospects, will help determine whether they’ll want to work with you, or whether they’ll want to work with one of your competitors instead.

And if your voice is sounding less than great during web meetings, your prospects may not be able to put their finger on it, but it can leave them with the feeling that you’re just not the right broker for them.

So make sure that you’re sounding your best, because this will have the greatest impact on people’s experience of interacting with you, and in you building a great relationship with your ideal prospects online.
